How to create a safe and memorable password

Creating a safe password
To keep yourself and your data safe, the first line of defense is to select a strong password yet which is easy for you to remember. It sounds like a common sense to choose a powerful password, but still many of us fail at doing so. There is a pressing need to choose a good password because hackers have become increasingly sophisticated at password cracking. What may have been considered a strong password a year or even a month ago, may now be an open door inviting people, leading to your data being breached. Internet security is based on weakest link principle. Amid of all these insecurities, it ain't impossible for anyone to choose a strong password. Here are some Do's and Don't's that you can follow to choose a strong password.
Do's
  1. Use alpha-numeric characters. When your password contains both alphabets and numeric characters, it becomes quite difficult for someone to make a guess of your password.
  2. Use a mix of upper-case and lower-case letters. Since passwords are case sensitive so even if someone makes a correct guess of your password, case-sensitiveness can keep your password secure. For example if you select any password, consider blackhorse. You can use some uppercase letters and keep your password as BlacKhorse.
  3. Use symbols. While some systems don't allow their users to use symbols in passwords, you can use symbols if your system allows (space should not be considered as a symbol). This will make your password even more secure. For example- <BlacKhorse>
  4. Use a deliberately misspelled term. These kind of terms make your passwords even more secure. If you have chosen your passwords as BlacKhorse, to keep it more secure you may use the term BlecKhoarse.
Don't's
  1. Do not choose your name/ friend's name/ any contact number as your password.
  2. Passwords smaller than at least eight characters.
  3. Don't reuse same password for multiple accounts. Follow the principle; one account-one password.
  4. Do not use passwords mentioned in this or any other tutorial.

So what will be the consequences when you don't have strong password ? At first stage, the one gets your password will be able to read your messages, e-mails, can access your bank accounts and stats. At succeeding stage, they can hack your friend's or anyones's account if you have networked them. And the last yet the most destructive one, they can perform many illegal or ineligible stuff in your name thereby flipping your image from an innocent person to a culprit.

Your computer knows you better than your mom

Social networking has become an indispensable part of our lives these days. 'Being Online' is what everyone demands. Kid's these days play online games rather than outdoor or family games. We have more virtually trues friends than real ones. But does this lifesless machine made up of tiny materials know us better than any of our friends or family member ? Well the answer to this question is explained below.
A study submitted by PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences), US proved that if we want to know about someone's personality, than computer based judgements are the most accurate in describing him/her.
About ten thousand people participated in this survey by filling a personality test.
In this test, people were asked questions which revealed their five basic traits i.e. extraversion, openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness and neuroticism.
For many of us it may be a deceit, but the judgements made by the computer were solely based on Facebook likes. It was actually based on likes on Facebook pages about movies, books, TV shows, music, etc. rather than likes on statuses or photos.
David Stillwell, deputy director of Cambridge University’s Psychometrics Centre told, "For me it's not completely surprising, because if I went on a blind date with someone I had never met before and they were telling me about their favourite music or favourite films, what sport they like playing, then I could make a judgement about what kind of person they are. But obviously what’s different about our analysis is it’s a computer doing this analysis automatically, without having any real understanding of, what is Big Brother? It only knows what people who like Big Brother are generally like."
These results may also serve as the foundation of innovative tools, for example, getting an insight of someone’s personality. This could be used in suggesting career options or sorting out candidates.

Michigan Micro Mote - a computer smaller than a rice grain

Those days are gone when computers used to be as large as size of a  room. These days, technology is developing at an exceptional pace compared to any other aspect of human life. Here is the result of persistent efforts of professor David Blaauw and five of his students. Professor and his students since the last decade were focusing on the development of world's smallest computer. They have developed a computer which is smaller than even a rice grain. Michigan Micro Mote (M^3) is only two millimeters across. Although this computer is extra-small, its features can't be underestimated. M^3 is powerful enough to take pictures, record temperature, pressure and can be used for radio communications too.
Michigan Micro Mote

Prof. David Blaauw says
To be 'complete', a computer system must have an input of data, the ability to process that data-meaning process and store it, make decisions about what to do next- and ultimately the ability to output that data. The sensors are the input and the radios are the output. The other key to being a complete computer is to supply it's own power.
The M^3 was eventually designed to be charged with light. When its operator strobes light at a high  frequency, it can send information to the Micro Mote. Then, it can process the data and send it to a different computer through radio frequencies. The Phoenix processor inside of the compute requires just 500 pico-watts ( which is pretty amazing because the power consumed by a single human cell is 1 pico-watts) in standby mode,  and it can charge its battery in a room with no natural sunlight.

As for the Michigan team, they think that the M^3 could prevent people from losing items, such as keys or wallets. The computers could be adhered to items that may get lost, and its central system could help users find items around the house.
